A Great Real Estate Agent

When looking to hire a real estate agent make sure that you hire a great one!  There are a few key things to look for when hiring an agent.

Experience matters now more than ever!  There is nothing more important than working with an experienced real estate agent.  Let’s face it, nobody wants to the anyone’s first anything…. barber client, dentist client, restaurant patron, etc.  With experience comes knowledge and a few good stories too.  I can tell you that I’m a million times better at my job today than I was when I first started.  Assisting over 650 clients since 2005 has a lot to do that.

Local expertise is crucial.  Knowing the local markets, the other agents, the best streets, etc. all makes a difference.  As a buyer you’ll want to know which side of the street sells for more money, which schools are the best, and which details are affecting property values.

Accessibility is also important.  A good Realtor is able to assist their clients each day of the week, and at different times of the day.  It’s not a 9 to 5 type of job.  Buyers and sellers always have great questions and a good agent will be available, within reason, to answer those questions.

Lastly, A great real estate agent is connected to industry professionals.  With experience comes connections to contractors, inspectors, designers, CPAs, attorneys, and more.  You’ll want to know these people and you can rely on a great real estate agent to know them too!
